About The Author

Matthew N. Morales has engaged in the critical study of the New Testament for nearly twenty years. Raised in the Lutheran church, he began questioning the teachings of the Bible at a young age. Matthew is a strong advocate of acknowledging one’s own potential biases, and while he identifies himself as a Christian, his spiritual beliefs have evolved to accommodate the wealth of new information present in the modern era.

The purpose of this site is to share some of the results of Matthew’s own personal quest for the Historical Jesus. It is also meant to prepare the way for the eventual publication of these ideas. He hopes that believers and nonbelievers alike will appreciate his approach and find something of value within these pages.

When he’s not researching Christian Origins, Matthew enjoys playing The Legend of Zelda series, listening to the band Ghost, and spending time with his family and pets. Matthew received his Bachelor’s in Anthropology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick with a minor in Religion.
